Dear Senator Collins,

Your political party has successfully nationalized American politics, so now you’ve made it my business, as a Californian, to hold you accountable for your actions in the Senate.

The problem with Brett Kavanaugh isn’t just the credible allegations of sexual assault, as contemptible as those actions were. But his unhinged reaction shed a strong light on his real problem: Brett Kavanaugh is a partisan hack who completely lacks the temperament to sit on the high court. His presence on the Court will forever destroy American's respect for and trust in the Supreme Court.

I know, to your party “partisan hack” is a feature, not a bug. But that’s not how the vast majority of Americans see it. I understand and support the outrage of America’s women, who rightly see Kavanaugh as an attack on their rights, their personal sovereignty, and even their existence.

I’ve already donated to the contingency fund to oppose you in 2020 should you help Kavanaugh ascend to the Supreme Court. I promise you, if Brett Kavanaugh is seated on the Court, I will do everything in my power to see you defeated in 2020. Note that my opposition depends on whether Kavanaugh is seated, not how you personally vote. Even if you intend to vote no, you must lobby your fellow Senators to join you. I will not reward failure.
