I've not been paying attention, I admit, to know until just now, that the wonderful author John Varley died last December. What a loss! His books and short stories were easy reading and yet thought provoking. Relatable characters. Often compared to Heinlein in style, he took it to the next level. Alas, he's not well known.

His work has been seldom and poorly adapted to the big or small screen; a great shame. The story *Press Enter* (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Press_Enter would be an amazing short film. So many others. His nine worlds universe is ripe for picking.

True story: I was literally reading one of his novels the very moment I met my wife.

So, thanks John, for all the "Varley Tales" that have filled countless hours with entertainment.
