Not sure what the complaint is

Either people at these events will either smarten up, and stay home (why in-person gatherings are still allowed is a mystery), or they won't and end up injuring/killing themselves, and everyone around them - the bright side of this is that the people who make poor pandemic choices won't be able to pass their choices on.

Masks aren't what I'm worried about, to be honest. Wearing them does nothing to prevent infection, they only assist in preventing you from infecting others. To be frank, if you feel like you're experiencing symptoms, you shouldn't be outside in the first place! Socialising at all, even if you're not expressing symptoms, should be out of the question. Portions of the rest of the world are slowly phasing out of lockdowns, simply because they had the common sense to stay put, and wait for COVID to die out in their areas - something America is sorely lagging behind in. People should only be leaving their homes for excercise and essentials, and masks are only needed when in community areas - grocery/supply stores, essential businesses, etc. - and even then, the 6-foot rule and capacity-capping will do far more in that department. If you feel like you have to wear a mask outside of these areas, you shouldn't be outside!

At this point, while I do care for my friends (republican and otherwise), I'm restricting everyone I know to electronic distances. If they want to talk to me, they can do it over the phone, or via email - not in person.

Why do we even have party rallies, anyway? Something about them just seems un-american.
