You know how the man lies and he does so even when he doesn't have to. Many people who test positive do not get sick or even show symptoms. Until he has to go to the ER, who's gonna know for sure, eh? If his being positive is just a conspiracy there would be no way to know it, only a handful of close aides in his entourage would have to be in on it, and even if it leaked out, he could claim it was fake news.

Trump loves to change the subject, to make sure something he doesn't want talked about to be forgotten--like his debate performance, his taxes, his falling polls, and the signs of revolt in his own party and even on FOX. Maybe he's looking for a face-saving way to withdraw his candidacy. Maybe his donors and GOP heavyweights have talked to him and said; "Its time for you to leave gracefully, time for us to cut our losses, before you go down dragging us with you."

Or, as Mme Reclus pointed out, he's doing this to drum up sympathy, to get people to feel sorry for him. The people "who do" like him will pivot from "Covid is a Democrat hoax" to "He bravely put himself in peril for us" in a microsecond. And I'm sure he'll find a way to blame his medical problems on Hillary or Obama...

Or maybe he just wants a face-saving reason to not debate Biden, especially if the humiliating cut-off mic switch rule is forced on him. This also gives him a perfect excuse not to go to any more rallies, or to cut back on his campaigning. He's already starting to get bad press about going maskless to mass rallies and cabinet meetings. Trump likes to get out of tight spots by completely shaking up the situation, throwing sand and monkey wrenches in the gears, or distracting us with irrelevancies. Its like an octopus ink cloud. It hangs in the water, confusing predators while it makes its escape.

My guess is that whoever is shaking him down has quietly let him know that they are withdrawing support, that they will no longer back him up. Or that they are about to release some bad news, something they have on him because he is no longer an asset for them, but a liability. The election is quickly drawing near, and he will probably lose. Maybe they want him to do something quickly, while he is still able to.

Personally, I don't want him to get sick or die. It would just make a martyr out of him. I want to see him perp-walked into prison. I'm sorry if I can't work up any sympathy for him, or his followers. Its just that I can never forgive him, or them, for brutally and systematically raping the country I love. I'm tired of this drooling, syphilitic barbarian dry-humping my flag while his posse cheers him on.
