My brother is convinced that a bad outcome for Trump with the virus would cause the collapse of the fascist movement...

I suspect it just clears the way for a smarter more palatable fascist to be appointed by his party as a replacement.

Assuming he isn't lying about having the virus then in my opinion there are very few good outcomes for America.
