No one here is disputing that these things can start in other countries on their own
And as Americans we have a poor view into the culturally specific drivers behind these things in other countries.
But in THIS case claiming these actions reflect the values of the people of Canada is clearly false and gives the people doing harm an air of legitimacy they simply do not have.
And in this case there is clearly a direct line of support from the American far right and the idiots doing this in Canada.
These statements are not American-centric, they are statements of verified fact.
