A sister of an aunt moved her family there in 1999 with a religious group (cult) that was convinced Y2K was going to be the end-times...

NZ probably later regretted letting the nuts in...

I wonder how the cult fared when 2001 came and went without the end of days coming to pass...? I assume they just recalculated a new date... I am sure eventually they will get it right.
