Give an inch, take a mile

The Gay's I have met, I liked. I have no prejudice when it comes to their state of being. I even considered attending the pride parade in Vancouver this year to show support. One of my new family members is a lesbian whose partner was a woman but now is a man. It makes no difference to me.

I'd like to see an end to the hatred and eventual acceptance, but I do have a problem with educating the youth. I can see where some people would consider it indoctrination. My grandniece tells me in her high school it's now "cool" and trendy to be gay.

Affirmative action was a necessary act to combat racial inequality. But there should be a point where it is allowed to "wither away" as progress is made. Hopefully we will see the "in-your-face" gay activism follow suit.

7% of the US population is gay. As portrayed in movies television and theater, I get a false sense that it's around 35%. The portrayal is a "Potemkin Village" which grates the nerves of the intellectually honest.
