There you go again.

No one is saying we must immediately stop burning all fossil fuels. They are a huge part of our energy budget and it is unrealistic we can just go cold turkey on coal and oil. What we DO need to do is make it increasingly expensive and inconvenient to use fossil fuels to encourage alternatives and to promote energy efficiency and conservation.
And we have to resign ourselves to do some ugly, environmentally hurtful things too, like damming up more rivers and building more nukes.

My suggestion is to tax the shit out of fossil fuels, using the tax revenues to finance conservation and alternatives. See, I favor "market solutions", its the business community who doesn't want that because it would threaten the obscene profits they are making from this crisis. If we are forced to go fossil, it must be with the least polluting forms, such as methane, anthracite coals and sweet crude. Sure, they are more expensive. That's the whole point! And we should stop flaring off methane because its too expensive to do otherwise. CH4 is a worse greenhouse gas than CO2. If we have to burn it, do so in a power plant so at least it will do some good.

And we must stop deluding ourselves that "all we need to do" is pursue an all "hands on deck" policy by pursuing such dingbat programs as separating CO2 out of the atmosphere and pumping it underground. No, we cannot stop burning CO2 producing fuels. I never said that. But neither can we solve the immediate crisis by making up another one we can easily solve. The schemes you've pointed out are pipe dreams, distractions, noise; at best, a drop in the bucket.. What we can do is stop burning so much, and living so extravagantly, and that is easy. Its just nasty, inconvenient and unprofitable.

We have a fossil fuel problem because fossil fuels are cheap and convenient. They are also the only way to keep up our extravagant lifestyle in the first world countries.
This is not a real estate issue, its about planetary survival. There is no way we can solve this problem and maintain our comfortable, middle class, suburban three-car household urban sprawl. No amount of graphene is going to help us with that. We need to start taking the bus to work.
