You're making the same mistake others have made.

That people are doing their best to dilute or even destroy the language of politics and philosophy doesn't make the concepts themselves go away. That people are saying things that are factually untrue doesn't make them true. That people are ignoring vast swaths of history and reality doesn't make those things disappear.

If discussions on basic ideologies and principles are too aggravating - particularly when so many people are spewing inchoate crap - back off and go empirical. Before there was chemistry and physics, people used observation, experiment, and reason to figure out how things worked.

You can do this for politics and social ideas, too. Look at history, look at the record. Look at what makes sense and what doesn't. Look at what IS.

Look at Robert's post. Analyze it. See?
