How badly do we depend on Soyuz for supply and rescue flights?

And are our billioneer technogeek craft and launchers dependable?
It would be awful to lose an SS crew in an emergency. Also, are the Chinese ships and operating parameters adaptable to ours, could they help us out of a jam, or vice-versa? It would be really short-sighted if the 3 spacefaring nations didn't at least have compatible airlocks, or if their spacesuits didn't fit through each other's hatches..
