Taiz facing imminent catastrophe
The Iranian-backed Houthi militia has cut road access to Taiz, one of Yemen’s largest cities, laying siege to it. Officials there warn of an impending humanitarian disaster. The city of over 4 million (according to World Population Review Taiz Population 2026 (worldpopulationreview.com)) is down to almost no supplies of food, water, medicine, fuel, etc.
In the previous Yemen war, which led to the deaths of an estimate 400,000 people and the displacement of millions, there was little UN or international concern. Zero protests on college campuses either. Will this time be different?
