I created "Blues" many years ago, had a story about them published in an on-line Zine. My Blues have a history as coming from a planet where they operated in darkness because their eyes were light sensitive. Their half human progeny had no such problems and the eye problem for pure Blues was eventually solved. They were a "slave" population for human colonizers, but later created quite a civilization. They spoke with "moo-ing" sounds which in a story later in their evolution, I used as a pun which promptly got rejected by IASFM because they no longer printed puns. Pooh. My one pun story.
