Update
I kludged a fix that seems to be working so far, by simply gluing the connector to the board tightly enough that the busted pins make press contact with the solder bumps on the board. I will test this out a bit, and may try and figure out how to strengthen the electrical connection.
Maybe trained fleas with conductive epoxy...
