This is why people like Clarke need to be tossed out of power. They have no brain.
I paid back my own loan--admittedly nothing like the ones they have now--over many years of work that didn't pay very much. So did a hell of a lot of other people.
Anybody who decides that suddenly the current generation should get a free pass--a "free" pass those working people will be paying for--is not going to be popular with the rest of us.
The real problem is an academic industry that has increased in price even more rapidly than medical costs, and for much the same reasons: huge subsidies.
