Funnier than h--l!

And some good points. The guy has a great attitude.

"Jews don’t need a stinking wall to talk to God. God is used to Jews wailing His ears off from wherever they are."

"Muslims don’t need a mosque to talk to God. All they need is a rug and a compass – and the rug is just to make your knees comfortable; God will listen to your entreaties regardless of your posture."

Ol' Mom, who spent three years in Afghanistan leaving just prior to the Russian invasion, brought back about 40 of those rugs, as well as huge tapestries, a bunch of copper pans, burners, and so on. They don't insulate the walls, so rugs are used as tapestries for insulation as well as decoration.

Looted the country, I think. Since they are "household goods" and she was there over two years were duty-free. I don't think she left much for the Russians.

The prayer rugs are interesting. A spot for hands, and the pattern tells a story to anyone able to read it. I had an Afghan interpret one for me, and the story, about where it came from, the tribe, etc., was interesting. May have been BS beyond belief, but it sounded good.
