PS

The craft seemed to be out of control, drifting sideways and down, before it started the pitch which brought the refueling probe into contact with the mountain. And at that point the rotors hit the snow, and disintegrated. It didn't look as if the probe hitting really had much to do with the crash, except that for it to hit there were big problems already.

The pilot seemed to be able to keep it fairly level.

I'm not sure what a rotary-wing craft would do, but that pitch sure looked like what a fixed-wing does after a stall. Of course, those are headed forward, and this wasn't.

Would a helicopter stall straight down, maintaining attitude? Beats me. Someone knows.
