As long as we're on the subject of dialogue, my vote for the worst goes to Tom Clancy. (And by the way, Tom, your quote of a "spoof" of Democratic Party issues wasn't really wonderful English, either.)

I enjoyed three of his books. Came to "Patriot Games", was anticipating another great read.

Not even in children's comic books to people talk that way. Was the corniest, tritest dialogue I've ever seen, anywhere. Couldn't finish the book. I don't think there has ever been a show on Fox, including Fox News Sunday with Trent Lott, where the dialogue and characters were so juvenile.

Have read a good book on aircraft carriers and a mediocre book on Special Forces by Clancy since then. No fiction, and probably wouldn't buy the next true book.
