"And yes, when I contemplate someone jamming a cold gun barrel into my forehead to tell me what kind of goddam coffee I can drink--and no matter how much liberals try to fog the issue, this is exactly what's happening--I do tend to reach for the antacids."
In the first place, it's wrong to assume the gun barrel would be cold. A PC government of the type you are contemplating would warm the gun barrels. None of that cold stuff pressed to your forehead. Cruel and unusual.
Second, it's wrong to patronize a place like this. Please, please stay out of places which put a gun barrel to your head to tell you what to drink. The free market should operate, and drive those folks out of business.
Third, the Tums idea is wrong. Somewhat before that gun barrel gets to your forehead, reach for your Uzi, or something, even your car keys. In scientific tests, Tums have proven to be no more effective than Rollaids against cold gun barrels against the forehead.
I hope the rest of the week goes better for you than this. Don't let 'em get you down. (I'd drink tea before I'd tolerate the damn gun barrel against my forehead. I don't think I'd be thirsty anyway, or would spill the coffee.)
