"Perjorative"
"We don't appreciate that," he said. "It's pejorative terminology. It's offensive."
Must be "perjorative" in the eye of the utterer. I've never thought there was the slightest negative connotation in the term "oriental", and thought, myself and maybe erroneously, that it meant Chinese, Japanese and Korean, mainly.
I've always thought of Southeast Asians as "Asians".
This guy must think Orientals aren't much. Wonder where he got that idea. I don't think it's common.
