Dogs are great communicators and also have a good sense of time. My dogs know when someone is due to come home from work or it's time to wake up.
What amazes me is how some dogs still circle the area where they are going to lay down prior to there final resting spot. After all the years of breeding they still have the instincts from there descended to circle but they don't seem to be looking out for the possible threat of a predator.
