This is not exactly news, unless no one involved in the study ever owned a dog. My wife gives our dog three Milkbones in the evening, and she dang well knows it if you only give her two. I can also tell almost exactly what she is barking at by the tone and style of her bark. She has one that says "squirrel," one that says "someone at the door," and others that say "guy next door she doesn't like" and "UPS or FedEx guy."
