Brooks proves that you don't have to go overseas to be an Ugly American. I've encountered quite a few of those myself in the form of refugees from high-tax, high crime, high cost coastal areas. They move here and almost immediately begin complaining that we don't have the very expensive goodies that made their previous hometowns so expensive and highly taxed. As the old bumper sticker went, "Don't Californicate Colorado." If they don't like it here, they're perfectly free to leave. They wouldn't be missed.
