My copy of Norton Antivirus isn't flagging the messages as being infected, but a controlled test confirmed they are.
The old rules still apply, NEVER open an attachment from someone you don't know, and be very cautious about opening them from people you do know. I recommend never opening any attachments with names like "A powerful tool" or "Happy " whatever. And keep your virus definitions files up to date.
I don't even recognize any of the names in the emails, but there may be an explaination. I use email to communicate with my students and perhaps one of them (or someone they know) became infected and got my address from their address book.
In the meantime, I'd love to catch the bastards who write these things and boil them in oil - very slowly for maximum pain.
