In Saddams case he would be looking for a memorable tribute - like the destruction of Jerusalem, New York or LA.

This is what no one is talking about - yet what underlies the insanity of his pursuit of WOMD. As you point out- fingers would point back to him. So only the insane or dying would continue such a suicidal course.
