In modern redistributive governments, there are "Makers" and "Takers." Adding this huge pile of "Takers" to the EU is going to add to the massive burden on the productive.

But then, this has nothing to do with the economic health of the European people, and everything to do with the massive accumulation of political power in a central authority.

It's been demonstrated countless miserable times that as long as they have political power, totalitarian rulers could care less if their people are poverty stricken, or for that matter, even if most of them are just piles of smoking skulls.

It's sad to see socialism finally conquering Europe without a shot being fired.
