Re: Liberal character assassination

I guess the point that the article was a partisan attack disguised as "objective journalism" went by you.

How out-of-context were these quotes?

>>>"The Democratic Party: "Morally corrupt to the core. Preaches hope and decency. Practices cynicism and racial and gender extortionism."

>>>"Stein said his parents were so liberal that "I grew up rooting for certain teams according to how many blacks were on the roster."

>>>On gay issues: "The drive to question and mock 2,000 millennia of religious teaching, to dismiss it out of hand ... is
tragic."

>>>Feminism: "Has poisoned the culture by a relentless war on nature."

I think he should expect to be called on them.

The questions posed by the man who stood up were completely off-the-wall. How in God's name did Stein's previous story on Huck Finn consist of "rationalizing" the use of the word "nigger?" Unless of course the questioner is one of those who thinks the book should be banned. And where the hell were the jokes on black people? In the entire list of jokes in the book, of which only some were in the speech, NONE even mention black people, unless you can twist "dead white males" into that.

And the question that SHOULD be asked, and never will be, is how accurate are the above quotes, even assuming in full context they retain their meaning?

He's dead right on the Democratic party. How many more examples do we need of their recent behavior?

The bit about the blacks on teams is dead on. I used to know leftists just like this in college, although typically they counted teachers or employees instead of ball players.

On gays, I don't agree with his specific point, but it is odd that some cultures are regarded as sacrosanct, regardless of how off-the-wall their beliefs are, while Judeo-Christianity can be routinely spat on without the slightest consequences.

As for modern feminism, you tell me what it means when a woman being a mother and raising children is considered to anti-female. The movement has gone totally around the bend and become a total toady of the Left. If you want an expert opinion, read The New Thought Police by Tammy Bruce.

One other point I would make: In my book you don't brag about your kid walking out on a teacher. You devise a suitable punishment, you work with the school to get his suspension revoked, you make him apologize.

If the school has an English teacher who thinks that Huck Finn is racist, you work on getting him removed or better educated.

I have been fortunate so far that none of my kids has gotten one of these College of Education Marxist wanna-bes yet for a teacher. I agree that walking out was not the best approach, and I'd counsel him on more appropriate responses, but I'd be damned if I'd punish him for it. Good luck trying to get a bad apple like that teacher removed, or even talked to. And educate them? Try to tell a leftist they're wrong about ANYTHING. Believe me, I know.

One thing that is routinely forgotten by our education system, like most "public servants," is that these people theoretically work for ME. The guy paying the bills.
