He didn't tell "jokes" about black people. He says he did not even remotely do such a thing, and with a video available to check him on, why would he lie about this in print? There are no such jokes anywhere in his book. I am attempting to locate a transcript.

This was a media hatchet job, pure and simple, and probably, as Stein says, targeted to keeping McTeer out of higher office. Heck, the other newpaper articles didn't even mention that the use of the word "nigger" was in a discussion about Huck Finn.

The left is not burning his book. They reserve that for conservative school papers, where they are safe in their academic preserve from the outrage they might get elsewhere. They are hiding it in bookstores, refusing to unpack it from boxes, refusing to review it, and otherwise doing their damndest to prevent people from reading it, but hey, it's a free country.

I agree that his "friends" sure didn't stand up when it counted. Conservatives have gotten gun-shy in dealing with the media, and no wonder.

I didn't catch that "2,000 millennia" slip of the tongue (or copywriter). That IS quite an impressive recorded history!
