Election comments before retiring to the TV for the night

The Florida race currently has Jeb Bush defeating his opponent 56 to 43 percent. The significance of this is that the Democratic Party marshalled every single weapon it had to wipe Bush off the face of the earth. As a small aside, Katherine Harris, also on the DNC shitlist, defeated her opponent 55 to 45 percent.

Some Republicans see the Florida race as a referendum between the Bush dynasty and the Clinton dynasty (It's no big secret that Clinton is currently largely steering the Democratic Party through McCauliffe). I'm not sure I'd go that far, but this does take considerable wind out of the Clinton arm of the Party.

If, as seems quite possible, the Republicans gain seats in both the House and Senate, this will be a major blow to the Democrats. The party holding the Presidency has not gained seats in an off-year election since 1934. The public is saying something loudly here. But what?

It will be fascinating to see how the press spins this, never mind the Democrats.
