Denial?

Donna Brazael, Clinton aide was one of the MSNBC commentators this evening, consistently refused to believe what was happening. She was saying wait and see after her candidate had conceded. There are others (McAuliffe for one) but they may have just been trying to put the best face on a bad situation.

Dispair?

Dem pollster Pat Caddell and others are calling it a disaster. In his case it sounded like dispair.

Turn to the left?

We'll see, I hope not. Some lib and conservative pundits were saying that Al Gore was the big Dem winner last night. "Moderates" like Gephardt and Liberman will suffer as the party turns toward dove posture and big entitlements that excite their base. Some were even predicting dem defections to GOP as their moderate positions become unacceptable.

Who knows? Pundits are pundits. The sleaze Dick Morris said Bush fatally blundered when he went on the campaign trail.
