And its Free!

Hey guys, I've been using this new spam filter called popfile for about 2 weeks now and rarely does it mess up. Check it out:

popfile

This is written by John Grahm Cumming who is coming out with an update every week. This is still in the beta test stage, but its so easy to use and so effective, I thought I'd give you all a heads up on it.

The reason this is different from other spam filters is that this one actually learns based on your e-mail. It takes a training period for it to become effective, (less than a week for me) but gets better the longer you use it.

Take some time to read through this. I had a couple of headaches getting it set up. You have to change a couple of settings in your e-mail client, but once you figure it out it is pretty simple. Also they have a good user forum over at source-forge for this.

Hope this helps some of you get out from the deluge of spam hitting lately. So far it only works for POP E-mail, but he has http e-mail on his to-do list.
