Re: A/A is the IN-thing to do . . .

Hollywood is fearful, at best. The heart of that empire was removed in the late 90s by the onslaught of overseas investors. Unlike the Great, White Way of Broadway (which fades even as I type), it is no longer a piece of Americana.

The movie is a futuristic thriller in which a detective investigates a crime that might have been perpetrated by a robot, even though that seems an impossibility given those three prevailing rules.

It would take more balls than tinsel-town can contrive, even from the magicks of Lucas-ville, to build a truly remarkable mystery ala Sir A.C. Doyle. The robot series was a thinker, and Hollywood is hard-pressed to summon a blockbuster that demands the audience actually think of something (AKA Asimov's Bicentennial Man). Done right, it would be astounding. As an Action/Adventure, I fear it may just lay there.
