Apparently we have forgotten the Education Bill, and other sops to the left. The Democrats only raise the issue of bipartisanship when they are on the ropes. When they are on top, they rip the lungs out of the opposition.

Like you say, if things DO go badly for America, it puts the Democrats in a very good position, because they can make a very good case that it would be all the fault of the Republicans.

But it does open up the question of motivations where policy is concerned, doesn't it?
