Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Jethro Tull, The Who, ZZ Top.

David Bowie is an acquired taste, I think. Back in those days I was pretty homophobic and that glam-rock stuff was threatening. Love the man now, though. His greatest hits album that came out in December rocks!
