You are more likely to succeed with a military analogy.
Since the dawn of organised warfare, chiefs and generals have placed their strongest and most able and aggressive troops on the right wing, where they can get an overlap and use their (right-handed) weapond against the enemy.
On the left, they placed the weaker and more timorous troops who merely had to hold firm with their shields against the enemy attack.
(the mass levy, who could be relied on to do only two things - die or run - were placed in the centre)
Make of this what you will in politics, but note that in Imperial China, there was less of a bias to right-handedness and the armies traditionally incorporated a few units of exclusively left-handed soldiers who bore their shields on the left and protected the left flank of the army.
