It's damn near a whiteout outside with visibility less than 100 yards. I went ahead and shoveled my side of the driveway (there's no way I want her to drive in this mess). There was about 9" of snow on the driveway yesterday and the drifts were up to 15-18" this morning with a lot more still coming down. If she does have to go in, it'll have to be soon or I'll have to shovel again. Great exercise.
Even with the rain and snow we've gotten from this storm, it doesn't come close to making up for a years of below average percipitation. Well, there's hope. This storm isn't over and there's still April. March and April are traditionally the heaviest snow months in Colorado.
The really good news is that the mountain areas are really getting clobbered. We get most of our water from snowmelt from the mountains. Some areas are getting up to 70" of snow from this storm. This will go a long way towards ending the drought and keeping the forests from being so dry this year.
