Excuse me?

"Psycho" comes from the Greek "psyche" ("mind"). You remember the Greeks, don't you? The inventors of democracy? The founders of Western philosophy and science?

"Babble", I had to look up, because I know that many people think it's derived from the Biblical Tower of Babel, which was allegedly located somewhere in Mesopotamia. Actually, according to the New Webster's Dictionary of the English Language, Deluxe Encyclopedic Edition, which I have here in my lap, the word "babble" is derived from:

[ < ba, a sound uttered by an infant; D. and G. babbeln, Icel. babbla, Dan. bable, Fr. babiller ], where D=Dutch, G=German, Icel=Icelandic, Dan=Danish and Fr=That Nation Which Shall Not Be Named But Gave Us The Statue Of Liberty. All Northern European.

The compound word "psychobabble" was coined in 1976 by American writer Richard Dean Rosen to describe the misuse of psychiatric terms in common speech.

Not a Semitic glottal stop to be seen anywhere.

If you had a point to make, I wish you'd do so instead of posting a babbled non-sequiter [Latin].

Nighty-night--
Mary Anne
