<GWB?
He has WMD but is not a sociopath.
No, I'm confused here.
WHY did we go into Iraq again?
Because we feared his WMD?
Yes because he wants nukes.
What if we don't find any?
What if?
We will find some. But by taking out a regime hellbent on procuring them, we still alleviate the threat, whether we find them or not.
Oh, sorry, it was to "liberate" the people of Iraq from Hussein?
Thats good PR but not the real reason.
Food for oil?
Not the reason.
Resolution 1441?
WMD procurement was banned. 1441 is a UN resolution however we are waging war against Saddam under our own cease-fire agreement signed in 1991.
I still am not clear on our reasons.
And Richard Perle resigned today........the hawk behind the Bush Doctrine.
Fears a little conflict 'o interest with Global Crossings.
How telling.......
Lots o' folks with dirty corporate dealings since the Clinton greed era.
Maybe he sees where all this is going.
And they're not really taking his advice.
Or Colin Powell's for that matter.
God, I wish this could be a quick and decisive victory for us.
Somehow, I just think it's gonna get worse.
It gets darkest before the dawn. Yes first things will appear worse and then they will get good - and pretty fast.
We complain about this oil rich dictator who has killed thousands of people.
Yet how many are going to die THIS TIME around?
Well, considering he is mowing down his own fleeing civilians - too many.
And what about the infrastructure?
We rebuild and modernize. Japan and Germany are proof that such modernization can change the whole nature and economic status of a country around.
What about those young children?
Hopefully they will grow up and have jobs and their own kids who grow up in freedom
Their futures?
See above
The death and destruction they'll see and smell and fear?
Next generation of terrorists right there.
No, not necessarily. My mother saw the bombs and explosions, played in the ruins as a child and she not only didn't become a terrorist but ended up marrying an "invader." Children are very flexible to events and don't always listen to their parents sage wisdom.
Just how far should we go to justify this war?
About as far as it's going to take us.
And the cure will be worse than the disease.
I'll bet on it. Wait until the food and water runs out.
The bearers of food and water got chased out today.
Hmmm.....things aren't going as "planned".
Don't you KNOW things should "go as planned"??!!
We will see what unfolds.
We are de-stabilizing the Middle East.
Can't believe some little rich kid from the state of Texas thinks he can go into a foreign region that has had it's civilizations in place for thousands of years (isn't Bagdad the most ancient of cities?) and try and change it.
And while he's at, steal it's resources.
Texas oil just ain't good enough.
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
Saddam's regime has been in place since 1979. His influence exerted since 1975. I don't think his regime's collapse will mean the end of thousands of years of Babylon or Baghdad's culture or its continuing tale of civilization. It will just be the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new one.
Rout it out! Bring American ideals and a new way of life. (like they want it.)
They should have taken a poll first!
They wont become Americanized. Culture lives on under new leaders. Afghanistan is by no means Americanized.
However, Iraqis will receive a healthy dose of democracy and freedom unprecedented after the nation is stabilized.
Arf.
Bowser a role model? Please say it isn't so!
;-)
Overused or not...I like them.
