Bob, I searched and searched but could not find the news article we discussed on the phone. Although I remember it as being a Yahoo news article, it's true that I also visit Google News and Reuters fairly frequently, so it could just as easily have been one of them. And, of course, if it had been Google News then the source of the article could have been anywhere, even including say, Saudi Arabia.
For those wondering what the hell I'm talking about -- First, let me say Hello.
I'm a friend of Bob's. We go back close to fifteen years. I keep promising to visit his board -- and decided this was the opportunity to do so.
The article in question was discussing the shortages of the "coalition forces" in Iraq. It mentioned (I think) some of the same stuff I had seen elsewhere about the shortage of rations, batteries, diesel, etc., and how that related to a 350 mile supply line that was a bit fragile. But it went on to assert that we were running critically low on smart bombs and cruise missiles -- which is obviously not related to the 350 mile supply line. And it quoted a retired general (I think) as saying "their [the coalition forces] only hope is to hold out until reinforcements arrive".
It was a bleak assessment, obviously. And now I can't find the article.
