We seem to be getting too far into the ionosphere with this discussion.
I would like to point out that we started out with a bunch of people who got fifty dollar bills from a cash machine when they were supposed to be withdrawing twenty dollar bills from their accounts. And apparently damn few of them went to the bank and sorted it out.
Now, maybe one of those people needed that extra cash to pay the surgeon for an immediate lifesaving operation for his baby. Maybe.
But if not, these people are stealing money that does not belong to them. It's that simple. And it's wrong.
And you can dance around that until your tap shoes throw out sparks like a steel mill, and call me judgmental, or whatever--frankly, I still don't understand why you're fighting this one--but it doesn't change the facts.
I don't need to be Solomon to figure this one out. Throwing peasoup fog into simple moral issues is one of the big problems our society has nowadays.
