A pattern which myself and my asssociates intend to see grow over the upcoming years.
Thank G*d (or the fates for those not religious) for the lousy science fiction writers who inflicted on the public "Mission to Mars" and "Red Planet" - given the theaters they emptied, the networks aren't going to be begging for them either. Compare with "Deep Impact" and "Armageddon"...
The result: 1 out of 3 in the youth market associate space and impacts - they understand in a very limited sort of way the problem of small impact events - 10 years and they'll be voting in numbers... 18-28...
Of course Cameron's coming up with his Mars series... but any other network programmer looking for counter programming can pick up the identification of the impact mega tsunami end of Stallings Island Cultures with the Atlantis stories, and package up quickly relatively cheap dives off Bimini and Cuba as great counter programs... just place the shows before or after the Cameron shows on Fox... Documentaries on the real Mars, "White Mars", would work too...
next hurdle...
I need to get back to work...
bye
