Mars was a topic the night before and Martian Colonization to prevent extinction by impact was mentioned in the asteroid shows. You really ought to watch one of those shows someday EP. Might help cure some of your noted misconceptions.

It's amazing what you can learn by listening to people actually looking for asteroids, who have worked on diversion methods, done research on impact rates by studying craters on various bodies in the solar system, and/or participated in various impact workshops. Does the absence of experts on myths and legends make these shows anathema to you?
