"few" may be the operative word here... As a pilot, you've got a sampling bias concerning flying doctors... My dentist is also a pilot (started aerobatics), but put it on hold when practive, family, and costs led him to realize he could not maintain proficiency...
NASA is losing a lot of time, money, and training (not to mention real good people) in these GA accidents, and needs to carefully take a thorough look at them...
but that's just an opinion...
