"Fine. Since I'm only concerned about legitimate science, I'll let the politicians and public worry about him and his claims for now, and given the limited attention span and general scientific illiteracy of both groups, I'll just sit back and wait until they come calling on the "scientific" community for its opinion."

I wish the world would listen to people like you Alex, but face reality. We should have never left the moon. We should have been back to the moon. We should have developed NERVA. We should have launched Skylab B. We should have launched Mars 2001 lander. We should have kept building Safe, Clean Nuclear Plants. We should have kept building Clean Coal Technology Power Plants..

If it was up to the scientific community, think of all the wonderful things we could have had and done. But unfortunately, public support is the bottom line in whether a major undertaking gets done or not.

Barry, from what I can see, is convincing a lot of laypeople that NASA is reckless and is about to wipe out life on this planet. Anyone want to step up and convince the "masses" otherwise?????
