Has anyone here been to March field air museum in Riverside? I got a chance to take a look at some of the vintage scrap... er...machinery on display while on the way to Miramar NAS (Which itself has some 'machinery' on display - including some vintage helicopters) It is amazing how far we have come in aviation. The best is hopefully yet to come.
The shocking thing was coming from the desert through a region (Riverside) - where the smog literally obscures visibility past a mile and chokes the lungs...if I am not careful I will become a greenie.
I found myself thinking up ways to purify the regions air (one of the first would be a vigorous landscape plant watering program and green lawn tax credit) I spotted an amazing number of homes with rock gardens (much like Phoenix)
The plants and trees everywhere were dying or near dead all around. The 215 freeway is a potholed path of litter and dead weeds. It was really depressing.
Where is all those folks tax money going?
A far cry from San Diego and Phoenix...
I wanted to stop by the Palm Desert air museum but no time...
LA and Riverside counties really needs some sort of smog control program before it contaminates San Diego and other still fertile regions.
March air field, horrendous smog and greenism
