Date of Rio Cuarto

The only date which we had earlier for Rio Cuarto was about 2100 BCE, the radio-carbon date which Schultes had obtained. Radio carbon dates had an accuracy of about = or - 100 years for 2100 BCE at the time when Schultes undertook his study.

While the isotope measurement techniques and calibrations (adjustments for the change in the flux of solar radiation) have improved since then, we now have tree ring records extending back to these times. While Bailie hasn't commented yet, we'll probalby have a date good to nearly a year by October -

The next problem is the dating of Egyptian records. These had earlier been dated by astronomical events listed in some of them, and there had been great disagreement among different scholars -
of course, due to the climatic effects of the Rio Cuarto impact, we now have a method of placing those records in time absolutely

Of course, there's more, including my own current work on another set of records - but I digress -

By the way, Mars does not have a molten core, and thus lacks a magnetic field to
shield its surface from the sun's radiation - thus it is simply impossible to terra form Mars, or to colonize it

As for Rio Cuarto, do you like your children fried or barbequed?
