Mars Atmospheric Duration-Anyone Got a Link?

A few million years is quite rapid compared to Mars' 4 billion year age. Do you suppose its original atmosphere lasted that little?

I'm not sure where I got that number from but am comfortable with it given the common sense rational listed above. Anyone have a link to a reputable source to back this up?

Mark
