ICAMSR set out to do two things:

1) Raise public awareness on the possibility of back contamination from Mars

2) Draw attention to the Viking 1 and 2 evidence for life on Mars.

For those that disagree with the Passive Earth entry capsule method of returning Martian soil samples directly to Earth, ICAMSR has a petition that suugests alterante methods we can use to determine the life issue. No one pays a cent.

Here are Dr. Margaret Race's views on planetary protection. She has not signed an ICAMSR petition, but has much to say about planetary protection. Have you read it?
