Gary,
You are right, you do get what you pay for. Beagle 2 is going to Mars to look for life fully aware of Levin's data. On the otherhand you have a group of people on earth who want humans to go to Mars as soon as possible without any regard for any delicate ecosystems that might be found there. These same people spend millions of dollars on things like fake spacesuits, fake plywood space stations and call themselves "commanders" of Mars. What a sham.
It's a well known fact that religious fanatics will spend any amount of cash to get to heaven -- its seems some humans to Mars types have the same attitude only with the mentality of the Spansih Conquistadors with a little Star Trek thrown in.
You get what you pay for.....Levin has a new NASA website dedicated to his life detection instrument along with a scientist who claims to have found circadian rhythms in his data , and you and your group get "Official Zubie Suits" fake spacesuits to go play Mars in the Arctic. You can't make me feel guilty.
