Implicit in the Mars fear mongering is that NASA has squelched the life signs of Mars.
This is simply not true.
The results at best are ambiguous.
To say Mars has everything needed for life is odd.
7 millibars of mostly CO2, high flux UV, subfreezing, no detectable orgaincs in the soil, no detectable liquid H2O, no magnetosphere to protect from solar wind, do not remind one of paradise.
I respect the idea of prudency. But crossing from prudency to unreasonable fear is hardly constructive.
